No affiliation. Brandon from Signarama Sign company in attendance. This is the old Urology Associates building. Will be using existing sign post in road now. New sign will be simple and different color. 110 Main St. will be the header. Existing ground lighting there now. 2 Laura Cronin, existing sign is it wood, carved? This proposed sign looks kind of standard. Brandon , no existing sign was black and imitation gold for header, panels were black with white vinyl applied. Applicant requested to be similar to what was there previously. Hospital has a similar blue. Laura Cronin, no character to this proposed sign, maybe use some raised lettering? Chair Cheryl Powell clarifies that these are the Bay Cove colors. Peri Wentworth did a drive by and the hospital signs are the most imposing. Cardiovascular sign is similar. Brandon , the businesses in this area, this is in character. Discussion regarding signs at the hospital and approving of and what is and is not in HHDC district. Laura Cronin thinks this look to blah. Brandon , even if letters are thicker, from the distance, you will not be able to see the dimension on it, carved nature. Kevin Matthews, can’t change your logo, this is actually smaller than the previous sign with all the wording/names. Brandon , confirms, yes, will be smaller. Will us the same existing ground lighting. Chair Cheryl Powell opens up for public comment. None. Chair Cheryl Powell closes public comment. Chair Cheryl Powell entertains a motion for the Findings, moved by Cornelius Cawley to find this application to be compatible with the preservation and protection of the district, seconded by Peri Wentworth, Roll Call Vote: Cornelius Cawley - aye Laura Cronin – abstain Conrad Watson - aye Matt Clark - aye Jeniffer Hinckley Needham - nay Peri Wentworth - aye Cheryl Powell - aye Chair Cheryl Powell entertains a motion for a Certificate of Appropriateness, moved by Cornelius Cawley to issue for the application at 110 Main Street as described in the submitted materials, seconded by Peri Wentworth, Roll Call Vote: Peri Wentworth - aye Jeniffer Hinckley Needham - nay Matt Clark -aye Conrad Watson - aye Laura Cronin - nay Cornelius Cawley - aye Cheryl Powell - aye Peggy McEvoy – 53 Pleasant Street, Hyannis – Map 327 Parcel 121 Demolition of shed Peggy McEvoy – 53 Pleasant Street, Hyannis – Map 327 Parcel 121 Shed Peggy and Maryann McEvoy in attendance. 3 Peggy McEvoy explains the existing shed built over 35 years ago, a lot of disrepair would like to replace with new shed and will be in a smaller foot print as well. She passes out the picture of the existing shed, and explains what a Reed/Ferry shed is, from New Hampshire company and built for you. Kevin Matthews, vinyl siding is not acceptable. Maybe take another look at and do shingles instead. Confirms that a smaller footprint. May need to come back for door and window materials. Peggy McEcoy, yes, will be 10 x 10, smaller and back from the sidewalk. Jeniffer Hinckley Needham, will the black bars over windows have to go back up? Maryann McEvoy, maybe get some suggestions from the Commission tonight. Will only be one window, this won’t be visible from the street. Haven’t had any problems with break ins. This is just for safety. Kevin Matthews, if can avoid the bars, this might be better. Peggy McEvoy, possibly the bars put up in the beginning with the older shed. Haven’t had a problem in 50 years. The old structure had 3 windows, this one only has one. Would like not to use wood for the door – would like to use some other material. The existing door is metal and has been there the whole time. Laura Cronin suggests that they come back – what would be the actual materials? Kevin Matthews, the hinges on outside of door, this should change as well. Peggy McEvoy, the vendor said that as well. They have only had one incident in many years. Matt Clark, hinges won’t look like that and door won’t look this way? Peggy McEvoy, will wait on the demolition decision as well if application continued. Corey Pacheco explains what they could come back with for materials for the shed. Peggy McEvoy, would like to use same types of materials that Sea Captains Row used. Jeniffer Hinckley Needham, lighting fixture outside of the shed? Peggy McEvoy, possibly, smaller size lighting. Conrad Watson, color of siding, is this color what is proposed? Hardy clapboard is good to use. Peggy McEvoy, marine grey with black shutters. Cost effectiveness.
