My fiancé’s family has deep roots in this area—his late grandmother lived for many years at 25 Sunset Lane, a home that remains in the family today. Through them, I’ve come to know and love this neighborhood, and I’ve seen firsthand how important safe beach access is to the community. Currently, the public path down to Millway Beach is uneven, rocky, and genuinely hazardous. I’ve often felt nervous trying to navigate the stretch of loose sand and rocks, especially when carrying gear. Proper stairs with a railing would make a huge difference—providing safety and confidence to everyone, from kids and older residents to boaters heading to the shore. Similarly, the Morse family’s property has no safe access to the beach as the current route is steep and unstable. Their proposal to install stairs over an existing riprap revetment is both thoughtful and environmentally sound. It adds a much-needed safe passage without disturbing the surrounding beach or natural landscape. Both of these projects represent small but meaningful improvements that would make our shoreline more accessible, safe, and enjoyable for all—while preserving the area’s character and beauty. Thank you for your time and for considering these important requests. Warm regards, Corinne Thomas
