Subject:Letter in Support of the Marsh Restoration Project on 87 and 0 Salten Point Road in
Barnstable
Dear Mrs. Cavanough,
Dear Mr. Hoopes,
This leƩer comes from Dana Hamilton and her husband Ralf Fahrenbach. Since 2020, we own the property known as 85
Salten Point Road in Barnstable, which is adjacent to the property menƟoned above where the marsh restoraƟon project
by our neighbors and applicants Shannon and Chris Smith is planned.
Our property on 85 Salten Point is in a very similar locaƟon and situaƟon as described in the project outline prepared by
Crawford Land Management which was submiƩed by the applicants. We have observed the same deterioraƟon of the
marshland over Ɵme as Chris and Shannon have. We would like to support their laudable efforts to stop the loss of
marshland that occurred in the past, and to reverse that process in a way that does not cause any harm to the
environment.
We feel that Shannon and Chris have gone a long way to find Crawford Land Management as qualified experts to advise
them on this project, to prepare the report describing the present and dissaƟsfactory situaƟon, and to propose minimal-
invasive ways to improve that situaƟon, We, Dana Hamilton and Ralf Fahrenbach, are in full agreement with the findings
of the Crawford report, and the supposed remedies. We hope to see the intended results of the restoraƟon work to
show rather sooner than later, in which case we would be happy to conƟnue the work on our own property.
