AGENDA – CONSERVATION COMMISSION HEARING
DATE: May 27, 2025 @ 6:30 PM
This meeting of the Barnstable Conservation Commission is being recorded and transmitted by the Information Technology Depart ment of the Town of Barnstable on
Channel 18. Under MGL Chapter 30A Section 20, anyone else desiring to make such a recording or t ransmission must notify the Chair.
The Conservation Commission’s Public Hearing will be held by remote participation methods .
Alternative public access to this meeting shall be provided in the following manner:

be submitted in advance of the meeting to Edwin.Hoopes@town.barnstable.ma.us , so that they may be displayed for remote public access viewing.

I. REQUESTS FOR DETERMINATION
A. Whistleberry Residents Association Inc. To remove an existing asphalt tennis court and surrounding fencing. Area
will be loamed and reseeded with native grass to existing grade at 100 Waters Edge in Marstons Mills as shown on
Assessors’ Maps 061, and Parcel 038. DA-25021 $26.80
II. NOTICES OF INTENT
A. Town of Barnstable Department of Public Works – To repair an existing culvert beneath Hawes Avenue to correct
existing structural deficiencies. Damaged portion of the culvert will be replaced in-kind and will be repaved at 11
Hawes Avenue, 0 Ocean Street, and 45 Folsom Avenue as shown on Assessors’ Map 323 Parcel 001, and Map 324

B. Kelly Barber – Barnstable Land Trust. Trail accessibility improvements to include a section of boardwalk decking
over the existing trail system, an accessible viewing platform, and minor invasive species management at 0 and 1540

D. Town of Barnstable – Planning and Development. Test pilot project to deploy 80 sq. ft. of floating treatment
wetlands for the purpose of monitoring eutrophication and removing nitrogen and phosphorus to reduce cyanobacteria
in Eagle Pond at 0 Putnam Avenue, Cotuit as shown on Assessor’s Map 055 Parcel 001. $29.48

B. Barnstable County. Proposed installation of a Permeable Reactive Barrier at the former Municipal Fire Training
Facility to contain Per- and Poly-Fluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) from groundwater and mitigate the transport of
PFAS-impacted groundwater toward public drinking water supply wells downgradient of the facility at 155 South
Flint Rock Road, Barnstable as shown on Assessor’s Map 313 Parcel 007. SE3-6273 Continued from 5/13/25.
