Subject: LeƩer of Support for Salt Marsh RestoraƟon Plan at 0 & 87 Salten Point Road
Dear Mrs. Cavanough and Mr. Hoopes,
My husband Joe Stockwell and I bought our house at 97 Salten Point Road in 2014. Prior to that, we had been spending
Ɵme at that property as guests since 2006 when my brother owned the property. The property is within 100 feet or so of
Shannon Smith and Chris TargeƩ’s property, which is the property at which the marsh/beachfront restoraƟon is being
considered. Shannon and Chris have been terrific neighbors over the years and we are very pleased to support their
project. In fact, my brother Jeff and our neighbors to the east completed another waterfront restoraƟon someƟme
around 2010, beginning with the western edge of our waterfront and heading eastward. That restoraƟon project was
quite successful in growing more seagrass and stabilizing the waterfront at our property, standing in contrast to the
visible erosion at the properƟes just to the west, including the Smith/TargeƩ property.
We stand in support of Shannon and Chris’ efforts to stop the loss of marshland that occurred in the past, and to reverse
that process in a way that does not harm the environment. We think that the Crawford Land management team has
come up with an excellent plan and are ready to support it in any way that we can.
Please consider this leƩer a hearty endorsement of the proposed restoraƟon project by Smith/TargeƩ. We would be
happy to answer any quesƟons or discuss this further. I’ve included the emails for myself and my husband below.
