ARCHITECTURAL DESCRIPTION • see continuation sheet
Describe architectural features. Evaluate the characteristics of this building in terms of other buildings within the
community.
83 Main Street is a five bay Colonial Revival style house that is currently
being used as law offices and a chiropractor's office. The gambrel roof %
has a shed dormer on one s i de—aird a side chimney. The east side of the .
house has circular windows at the top. The first floor windows are 8/8
and all other windows are 6/6. The facade entranceway (north) which is also
centrally located, has side lights and pilasters flanking the door. An
office section and a two car garage were added on to the main house in 1962
to increase the size of the structure.

fflSTORICAL NARRATIVE • see continuation sheet
Discuss the history of the building. Explain its associations with local (or state) history. Include uses of the burning
and the role(s) the owners/occupants played within the community.
The original property on this lot was the estate of a W. Bearse, according
tothe 1907 Atlas. There are two Bearses with the first initial "W" who
lived in Hyannis but it is not known which lived there. William Pratt
Bearse owned a meat market on Main Street in Hyannis and Warren Bearse
was a captain on the deep water sailing vessel "The Flying Scud."
The current property, built in 1941, has been in the Robinson family
since 1940 when it was owned by Joseph and Marjorie. Marjorie Robinson
has been the sole owner since 1972, apparently it would seem, after the
death of her husband.
