RE: LETTER OF SUPPORT – MALO CONSERVATION RESTRICTION
Dear Town Council President Tamash,
On October 6, 2025, the Open Space Committee voted unanimously, authorizing me to prepare
and submit this letter of support for the approval of the conservation restriction granted by Marie
Malo to Barnstable Land Trust on 5.88 acres of her 6.68-acre property at 755 Lumbert Mill Road
in Marstons Mills.
The property backs onto Barnstable United Elementary School and to an ancient way running
along the back property boundary. Weathervane Way Conservation Area is located across
Lumbert Mill Rd. The property lies within a Zone II Wellhead Protection Area and includes Prime
Farmland Soils. The CR will be granted to Barnstable Land Trust on 5.88 acres of the property,
excluding the front 0.8 acres where the house is located. Barnstable Land Trust will be responsible
for monitoring the property for compliance with the CR.
The Open Space Committee has reviewed the proposed conservation restriction and
recommends Town Council approval of the document. Please let me know if you have further
