Our design draws inspiration from the enduring vernacular of New England gambrel-style homes, with particular attention to classical proportion, scale, and material authenticity. Materials and Detailing •Siding: The exterior will be clad in traditional wood siding, painted in a historically appropriate palette. The siding profile and finish are selected to echo the craftsmanship of period homes in the district. •Stone Veneer: A natural stone veneer will be applied to the foundation and select accent areas, referencing the stonework found in older homes and boundary walls throughout the neighborhood. •Roofing: The roof will be constructed of wood shingles, aged and treated to reflect the patina of time while offering durability and insulation. The gambrel form will be articulated with classical cornice detailing and proportionate dormers. •Windows and Trim: Double-hung wood windows with divided lights will be used, framed by historically scaled trim and sills Cabana Structure The proposed cabana, situated discreetly to the rear of the property, will be constructed using the same materials and detailing as the main residence. Its scale is intentionally modest, serving as a complementary outbuilding that reinforces the historic rhythm of ancillary structures such as carriage houses and garden pavilions.
