Thank you. ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Nappi, Chris <Chris.Nappi@town.barnstable.ma.us> Date: Wed, Nov 19, 2025 at 9:48 AM Subject: Savory Bog To: Douglas R. Payson <capecodhiker@gmail.com> Hi Doug, Kris Clark informed me that the Open Space Committee is reviewing the Land Acquisition Plan that will be in place for the next 7 years. I wanted to make sure that Savory Bog , the properties at #16 and 20 Route 130 in Cotuit were considered in the plan. In my opinion # 20 is more of a priority since it encompasses the banks of the Santuit River. This bog could play an important role in nitrogen reduction from water exiting Santuit Pond, which we know has water quality issues. Myself and previous DNR staff have had this location as a priority and I believe these properties were on previous plans and I wanted to make sure they stayed on the list. I presented this information to the Land Acquisition and Preservation Committee in 2018. 2 Let me know if you would like any additional information or if I can assist in any other way. Thank you, Christopher Nappi Senior Natural Resource Officer Town of Barnstable 1189 Phinneys Ln. Centerville, MA 02632 508-790-6272
