Dear members pf the Barnstable Conservation Commission,
I am writing regarding the Notice of intent for 23 Pleasant Hill Land in Hyannis.
I respectfully request that the Commission require the preservation and protection of
the existing mature trees on this property. These trees are beautiful and majestic and
contribute directly to protected resource area functions, including stormwater
control, ground water protection and the quality of our water. Removal of these 200
yr old trees, would greatly affect the entire character of the area and the benefits of
their very existence,
These trees are irreplaceable, and I urge the Commission to condition any approval
to preserve these beautiful and important trees to the maximum extent allowed in
accordance with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act and the Barnstable
Wetlands Protection Bylaw. No amount of planting could replace these trees, and it
would be an environmental loss for both man and nature,
