RE: Notice of Intent for Pristine Cape Properties - 23 Pleasant Hill, Lane, Hyannis
Dear Members of the Tonw of Barnstable Conservation Commission,
I am writing to you concerning the item on your agenda, Notice of Intent to demolish dwelling and shed
at 23 Pleasant Hill Lane. I respectfully request the Commission not approve this application at this time,
as clearing this property could adversely affect the natural resources and sensitive environment of this
neighborhood.
This property has significant mature trees (some believed to be 100 years old) and are critical to help to
maintain and protect surrounding land area and eco systems, including water quality, storm damage and
flood control, which they have stood guardian over for generations.
I respectfully ask this board to reject this application, until the Commission can ensure, or make
condition of approval; that the demolition, and site work does not adversely affect protected areas of
interest of the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, and the Barnstable Wetlands Protection By-Laws
by requiring protection of existing mature trees.
We need to protect the precious natural resources we have, and ensuring the protection of this area is a
strong effort to help do that.
Thank you for your consideration in not approving this request, as is, at this time, and for the work your
commission does to support the efforts in protecting Barnstable’s natural resources and help save this
special area so future generations can enjoy it.
Respectfully,
Laura Cronin
