HomeMy WebLinkAboutPublic Comment from Badot follow up1/16/26
Through the Chair and Members of the Zoning Board of Appeals,
I am writing to submit a brief follow-up comment for the public record regarding
Comprehensive Permit Appeal 2025-025, following the continued public hearing on
January 14, 2025.
I appreciate the Board’s careful discussion at the hearing and the decision to continue
the matter in order to allow additional review. Based on that discussion, I would
respectfully underscore one point for the record.
As reflected in the January 14 hearing, several infrastructure and safety items—
particularly relating to stormwater management, emergency access, traffic, and
pedestrian safety—remain unresolved or are proposed to be addressed at later
permitting stages. While I understand that Chapter 40B allows flexibility in process, I
am concerned that final findings in support of approval may be premature until these
issues are resolved in writing and supported by concrete evidence rather than
conceptual assurances.
My intent in raising this is not to oppose affordable housing, but to ensure that any
decision reached by the Board is based on a complete and well-documented record,
particularly where public safety considerations are concerned. Clarifying these matters
prior to final action would, in my view, strengthen the Board’s findings and better
serve both future residents of the development and the surrounding neighborhood.
Thank you for your continued time and consideration.
Respectfully submitted,
