Subject: Letter of Support for Earmark and Mass Preservation Fund - Kennedy Compound
Hello Erica,
My name is Liam King and I am the Development associate at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the
United States Senate. I write to ask if you will add your organization in support of the Edward M.
Kennedy Institute’s FY27 Community Project Funding request and Mass Preservation Fund request. If
funded, this earmark and grant will help underwrite the opening of the Kennedy Cape House to more
programs, and strengthen its role as a place for community connection and civic engagement.
The funding will support preservation and public access efforts at the historic Joseph P. Kennedy House
in Hyannisport—a site central to the Kennedy legacy and to pivotal moments in American history. The
Institute is preparing to open the home to the public, and support would help ensure this can be done
safely while preserving its historic character.
We would be grateful if you will write and return a letter of support by February 6th. We have included
three draft letters and additional talking points for you to use in crafting your letter of support for the
earmark. Additionally, there is one letter for the Mass Preservation Fund. We ask that your letter be on
your letterhead. You can simply add your name to one of our draft letters or create a personal letter
using some or all of the talking points we’ve provided should you wish to submit your own letter(s). If
you choose to complete, please feel free to email them back to me here. Thank you so much for your
time and consideration. This is a pivotal time for the Kennedy Institute.
If you have any questions feel free to call me at (978)-701-7017.
Best,
Liam
