Ed Markey United States Senator 255 Dirksen Senate Office Building Washington, DC Dear Senators Markey and Warren, Please accept this letter of support for the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate’s application for Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) in fiscal year 2027. A s part of its work promoting accessibility to the Kennedy family’s impact on American history, the Institute has owned the Joseph P. Kennedy house in Hyannisport, Massachusetts since its founding. The Institute is preparing to open this important historic site to the public for tours for the first time, an endeavor that requires significant work conforming to the highest Historic Preservation Standards while also ensuring the building’s lasting integrity and the safety of all visitors. The entire Kennedy Compound is a Designated National Historic Landmark, and the Jospeh P. Kennedy house, referred to as “The Cape House” is its centerpiece. Thank you for your thoughtful consideration and assistance. Sincerely, Robert Frazee, Chair Barnstable Historical Commission Hon. Elizabeth Warren United States Senator 311 Hart Senate Office Building Washington, DC
