To all persons deemed interested or affected by the Town of Barnstable’s Hyannis Main Street Waterfront Historic District Commission Ordinance under Chapter 112, Article III of the Code of the Town of Barnstable, you are hereby notified that a public meeting is being held at Town Hall, 367 Main Street, Hyannis, MA Selectmen’s Conference Room, 2nd Floor 6:30 P.M. on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 . All public hearings and other matters anticipated by the Chair listed below may be acted upon. The meeting will be televised live via Xfinity Channel 8 or high definition Channel 1072. Proposing a wall sign and a hanging sign. Dimensions given. Using the existing bracket that was there from previous. PVC and print, made out of 3M so won’t fade for very long time. Mounted with stainless steel. Laura Cronin clarifies the material. Not printed. Charlie Brennan, we print onto the PVC – place onto the PVC. Chair Cheryl Powell opens public comment. 2 Kevin Matthews, we can override and recommend per guidelines. PVC is ok, but not print on top of it. Has to be 3D. Reads from Guidelines, state 3 dimensional. Same with flat paneled sign, looking for more of a historic look. These are new guidelines, as there are some signs that have previously been done the way you are proposing. Charlie Brennan can make this a 3 dimensional sign – raise the logo possibly. Can go back to client and see what they would like to do. Thicken up the letters. Explains the proposal for the façade. Former Little Sandwich Shop. Remove the glass amd put the new door, will be double door, 2 - 30 inch fiberglass doors. Wall will be wood and trim will be PVC. The overhang, keep this and repaint it. Glass itself will be clear, not tinted. A lot of homeless sleeping in that area. Already rented for sushi people commercial tenant to come in. Kevin Matthews confirms renovating the façade. The new tenants will come for their signage. Laura Cronin confirms materials. Indri Ekasari, light grey color. David Wrenn, lighting? Leaving where it is now? Indri Ekasari, same type of lighting that is there now. Kevin Matthews, the number of lights? Will you be taking away some? Indri Ekasari, 5 across the top. Laura Cronin, confirms that it will be all clear glass? Indri Ekasari, we can make the windows like the building next door. The brick side will be there. Kevin Matthews looks for clarification where new wall will be brought out to? Indri Ekasari explains not painting the brick. Explains how the frame of the door will be. New door will be wider and the frame is going to be wood, painted grey and brick will remain. Chair Cheryl Powell suggests possibly coming back with proposal that has the picture - how it will be accurate of how it will look. Kevin Matthews, and recalculate the overhang as it will be with the new door installed. Chair Cheryl Powell, with the brick and the frame- show us how will look. Kevin Matthews, detailed description, it doesn’t state the brick will be kept, looks like all painted grey. Put in amendment that will be keeping the brick. Note: Laura Cronin is an abutter and must recuse for a vote for this application. Chair Cheryl Powell moves to continue this matter to the May 6th, 2026, meeting - for 569 Main St., seconded by Kevin Matthews, Roll Call Vote: Laura Cronin - aye Kevin Matthews - aye David Wrenn - aye Cheryl Powell - aye Presentation Hyannis Engine House – Conceptual review Julie Darling in attendance. Building is half the size as before, from 4 car to 2 car now. Presentation is shown. View of buildings in the area. Warehouses in the area. Explains that this building is where the trains are worked on. Revised building footprint. Building reduced accordingly. Conceptual of what it may look like in the site. Industrial, precast base. Fan units. Can’t mount much on roof due to being close to airport. Translucent glazing. Insulated metal panels. Precast concrete. Color and pattern. Elevations shown, Power exhaust fans, overhead doors for the trains. Kevin Matthews, thanks her for the work to make it look good. Good design. Laura Cronin, improvement to what is there now. Looks good. Why the reduction from 4 to 2. Julie Darling budget was a factor for the down size. Tracks will extend past the building. Not putting in anything for additional 2 spots. Chair Cheryl Powell asks for any public comment. None. Chair closes public comment. Julie Darling, continue to move in this direction and open to suggestions for the color. Tried to get as close to the Historic palette as we could. If come back with application can do as such. Chair Cheryl Powell closes public comment. Matters not Reasonably Anticipated by the Chair Approval of April 1, 2026, Draft Minutes Chair Cheryl Powell entertains a motion to approve, moved by Kevin Matthews, seconded by Laura Cronin, Roll Call Vote: David Wrenn - aye Kevin Matthews - aye Laura Cronin - aye Cheryl Powell - aye Chair Cheryl Powell - piece of correspondence from Eric Schwabb dated April 2, 2026 – Laura Cronin reads into record. Laura Cronin did some research for Hardie board and non combustible from the outside, but not the inside. Maybe need to do some additional info regarding this. Corey Pacheco it’s not based on materials being less money, a bit more dimension to it. Last Staff Report had info for this. It’s more complex than non affordable. Laura Cronin, did have an interview with reappointment committee. Appointments Committee. Good to have. And did get reappointed.
