To all persons deemed interested or affected by the Town of Barnstable’s Hyannis Main Street Waterfront Historic District Commission Ordinance under Chapter 112, Article III of the Code of the Town of Barnstable, you are hereby notified that a public meeting is being held at Town Hall, 367 Main Street, Hyannis, MA Selectmen’s Conference Room, 2nd Floor 6:30 P.M. on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 . All public hearings and other matters anticipated by the Chair listed below may be acted upon. The meeting will be televised live via Xfinity Channel 8 or high definition Channel 1072. Updates • Trainings • Awards • Correspondence Reminder of Commission’s Purpose and Proper Procedure Minor Modification – Continued 473 Partners Restaurant LLC – d/b/a Wicked Willy’s – 473 Main Street, Hyannis - Map 308 Parcel 084 Minor Modification – continued from May 6, 2026 – voting members: Cheryl Powell, Cornelius Cawley, Tom Doherty (with Mullin) Kevin Matthews, Conrad Watson and David Wrenn William Planinshek in attendance. Had three items that needed more information on. Site plan, lighting and elevations. Site plan has both the lighting and placement. Tom Doherty, not doing the lights on the fence? These will be the only lights? 2 William Planinshek, lighting will be the same that have been existing. Lighting around the fence. Kevin Matthews, may be important to have the other lights like existing would be good because lanterns are solar, and if no sun may not work. Tom Doherty, fence, clarifies not put in yet William Planinshek, will go in on Tuesday. The same fence as approved previously. Lattice across the top. Tom Doherty, moving the raw bar? William Planinshek, it’s on the patio. Refers to the site plan. Chair Cheryl Powell opens up public comment. Tom Doherty, not a fan of the lights on the other side, otherwise no problem. William Planinshek clarifies what lights being used. Tom Doherty, would like to see something more orderly with the lights and would have to match with the other side. Equal distance, right not neatly uniform. William Planinshek confirms that the fence going up and these lights will be more orderly. Will be more structured. Tom Doherty, the stuffed animal that is there now has to be approved by the Commission? William Planinshek, this just appeared one day. A person put it there. It really attracts attention. Tom Doherty, this should have come for approval. William Planinshek, this is on the hotel’s property, not his part of the site. Discussion regarding the stuffed animal, Angelo, the sloth. Chair Cheryl Powell possibly contact the property owner about this. Corey Pacheco, need to look at the ordinance, not sure how much regulatory Commission has about this. Chair Cheryl Powell entertains a motion for the Findings, moved by Tom Doherty to find this application to be compatible with the preservation and protection of the district, as long as lights on the fencing will be more structured as per discussed, seconded by Kevin Matthews, Roll Call Vote; Tom Doherty - aye Kevin Matthews - aye Conrad Watson - aye Cheryl Powell - aye Chair Cheryl Powell entertains a motion for a Certificate of Appropriateness, moved by Tom Doherty to issue a certificate of appropriateness for the application at 473 MainStreet as described in the submitted materials, seconded by Kevin Matthews, Roll Call Vote: Conrad Watson - aye Kevin Matthews - aye Tom Doherty - aye Cheryl Powell - aye 3 Chair Cheryl Powell – Laura Cronin has submitted correspondence received today May 20, 2026, Chair is treating this as public comment. Email received May 20, 2026, from Laura Cronin read into record – the parts pertaining to the application for 473 Main Street. Chair Cheryl Powell notes - to have the applicant at 473 Main Street be made aware of this correspondence. Continued Business Karina Hernandez d/b/a 569 Seafood on Main – 569 Main Street, Hyannis, Unit 12 – Map 308 Parcel 111-000 New sign – continued from April 15, 2026 and May 6, 2026 - voting members: All except Laura Cronin No one in attendance for this matter. Chair Cheryl Powell makes a motion to see if applicant is within the 45 days if beyond than it will be denied without prejudice., seconded by Kevin Matthews, Roll Call Vote: Conrad Watson - aye Kevin Matthews - aye Tom Doherty - aye Cheryl Powell - aye New Business Murillo Teodolino d/b/a Summer House – 302 Main Street, Hyannis – Map 327 Parcel 095 New Business Sign Murillo Teodolino in attendance. The building is yellow now, would like to paint the shade of green presented. Will keep the brick the same. Tom Doherty, clarifies will paint the whole thing but not the brick? Chair Cheryl Powell clarifies the colors. Murillo Teodolino, 3D letters, aluminum with a gold painted color. Kevin Matthews, hanging sign or just the front sign? Murillo Teodolino, no hanging sign and will keep the same lighting. Will remove the hanging brackets. Discussion regarding the colors, chrome green, looks like that color from HHDC’s color chart. With the shark tooth logo, top and bottom. Only looking at the sign tonight. 3d letters. Kevin Matthews confirms just the sign – not the awning or façade change. Chair Cheryl Powell confirms the gooseneck lighting. Kevin Matthews, not backlit. Tom Doherty, ok for the sign, but we are assuming it will be going on the shiplap? Chair Cheryl Powell opens up public comment. None. Corey Pacheco, if not approved what will be going up, are you ok with what is in place? Chair Cheryl Powell clarifies that want to approve this, but need to see the new façade. Corey Pacheco, the sign material is PVC? Paint color will be? Charlie Brennan, edge white all around, red and blue as submitted are the colors they will be going with. Chair Cheryl Powell entertains a motion to continue the to the next meeting, June 3, to be able to match it to what is being presented/coming in for façade, seconded by Kevin Matthews, Roll Call Vote: Conrad Watson - aye Kevin Matthews - aye Tom Doherty - aye Cheryl Powell - aye Matters not Reasonably Anticipated by the Chair Correspondence received from Laura Cronin - Corey Pacheco can talk about collectively as a Commission and enforcement issues and whether or not to send a letter to the Building Commissioner, but should discuss as a Commission and vote. Allen Feltham, the bull has been at Torino’s for quite some time. Also a large bear at the candy store as well. Corey Pacheco suggests - review your ordinance - something maybe review or take action against or maybe not in the jurisdiction.
