Event Description:*
The MindTravel Live-to-Headphone Silent Piano Experience is a passive, low-
impact cultural arts event featuring live music delivered exclusively through
wireless headphones. Attendees gather in a designated area to listen to an
original, ambient piano performance, creating a highly organized and serene
experience for participants without causing a public disturbance.
Operational & Logistical Details:
Audio Control & Noise Mitigation: This is a "silent" event. The artist performs live on a
digital keyboard. The audio is transmitted directly to wireless LED headphones worn by
attendees. There is no external amplification, loudspeakers, or public sound disturbance,
making the event virtually silent to passersby.
Setup and Equipment: Setup is minimal and non-invasive. It typically includes one
digital piano placed inside a sculptured baby grand piano, 2 pop up canopies (10x10 for
check in and audio equipment), a wireless transmitter, and 2 folding tables (check in and
hold audio equipment). No heavy staging or structural alterations are required.
Crowd & Traffic Management: Attendees remain seated or stationary on
blankets/towels within a designated footprint for the duration of the 60-to-90-minute
performance. The event is fully ticketed and monitored by staff to ensure pathways,
sidewalks, and emergency exits remain completely unobstructed.
Public Safety & Waste Management: MindTravel staff manages check-in and checkout
to maintain an orderly flow of traffic. The event generates minimal to no waste, and staff
conducts a thorough sweep of the area immediately following the conclusion of the
experience to leave the space in pristine condition.

Detailed Description of Proposed Live Performing Art:*
1. Artistic Concept & Presentation
The proposed activity is a live, contemporary piano performance by composer
Murray Hidary under the artistic project MindTravel. The performance features
original, improvisational, and evocative ambient music intended to offer a
peaceful, meditative cultural experience for the community. The presentation
is entirely passive and stationary, designed to harmonize seamlessly with the
natural or urban surroundings of the venue.
2. Technical Setup & "Silent" Broadcast Technology
To eliminate public noise distraction and adhere strictly to local sound
ordinances, the performance utilizes advanced wireless audio technology:
The Instrument: The artist performs live on a digital keyboard/electronic
piano.
The Broadcast: The audio signal from the piano is fed directly into a low-
power, localized radio transmitter located at the performance station.
The Reception: The music is broadcast exclusively to specialized, wireless
multi-channel headphones worn by the audience.
Acoustic Impact: There are no loudspeakers, stage monitors, or external
audio amplification systems used. To any observer passing by outside the
immediate audience footprint , the event is completely silent.
3. Operational Logistics & Site Footprint
Equipment Profiles: The physical footprint is exceptionally minimal and non-
invasive. Setup consists of one digital keyboard on a portable stand, a small
wireless transmitter, a battery power source, and two 6-foot table (check
in/utilized for the distribution and sanitization of headphones and holding
audio equipment). No heavy staging, rigging, trussing, or structural alterations
are required.
Audience Layout: Attendees are instructed to bring their own yoga mats,
lawn chairs, or blankets. They remain stationary within a clearly defined, pre-
approved perimeter for the duration of the performance.
Load-In / Load-Out: Due to the compact nature of the equipment , load-in
and load-out are same day, utilizing standard passenger or light commercial
vehicles without disrupting local traffic flow.
4. Crowd Management, Safety, & Compliance
Capacity Control: The event is fully ticketed (via pre-registration), allowing
staff to strictly cap attendance at the venue’s authorized capacity limits.
Ingress & Egress: Dedicated MindTravel staff manages a organized check-in
line to distribute headphones, ensuring that public walkways, sidewalks, and
emergency access lanes remain entirely unobstructed.
Environmental Impact: Attendees are seated throughout the performance,
resulting in zero turf or structural wear to the site. Staff conducts a
comprehensive post-event sweep to ensure the space is left completely clear
of refuse. Adheres by a strict 'leave no trace' policy.

Subject: Detailed Event Narrative for MindTravel Live-to-Headphone Silent Piano Permit
Application
To Whom It May Concern,
On behalf of MindTravel, I am pleased to submit this detailed event narrative and cover letter in
support of our application for a business license and event permit. We are proposing to host a
MindTravel Live-to-Headphone Silent Piano Experience, a unique, low-impact cultural arts
performance.
Our goal is to provide a serene, meditative musical experience for the local community that
celebrates public spaces while maintaining absolute respect for the surrounding environment,
local residents, and city ordinances.
Event Overview & Artistic Concept
MindTravel is a contemporary, ambient live music project created by composer and pianist
Murray Hidary. The event consists of a 70-to-90-minute live, improvisational piano performance.
Unlike traditional live music concerts, this event is designed to be deeply relaxing and stationary.
Attendees gather in a designated area and listen to the live performance entirely through
wireless headphones, creating a shared yet deeply personal cultural experience.
Innovative "Silent" Technology & Noise Mitigation
The defining feature of a MindTravel event is its complete lack of acoustic impact on the
surrounding area. The operational flow of our audio delivery is as follows:
● The artist performs live on a digital electronic keyboard.
● The audio signal is fed directly into a localized, low-power wireless transmitter.
● The music is broadcast exclusively to specialized wireless headphones worn by ticketed
audience members.
Because no loudspeakers, amplifiers, or public address systems are utilized, the event is
virtually silent to anyone passing by outside the immediate audience footprint. This ensures
absolute compliance with all local noise ordinances and guarantees zero disruption to nearby
businesses, residents, or wildlife.
Logistical Setup and Minimal Footprint
The physical setup for the event is exceptionally minimal, non-invasive, and temporary. The
infrastructure includes:
● One digital keyboard is placed inside a grand piano shell.
● A small, localized wireless transmitter.
● A portable battery power source (requiring no city electrical hookups).
● Two standard 6-foot tables used exclusively for staff check-in/ headphone distribution
and to hold audio equipment.
● Two - 10x10 pop up canopies
No heavy staging, structural rigging, or ground alterations are required. Load-in and load-out are
the same day and are conducted using standard passenger vehicles, ensuring local traffic and
parking remain unaffected.
Crowd Management, Safety, and Site Maintenance
MindTravel prioritizes safety and strict adherence to city capacities:
● Capacity Control: The event is fully ticketed via pre-registration, allowing us to strictly
control and cap attendance numbers based on city guidelines.
● Audience Footprint: Upon checking in and receiving their headphones, attendees are
directed to find a spot to sit on their own blankets, yoga mats, or lawn chairs within a
pre-approved perimeter. Attendees remain seated and stationary for the duration of the
music. May walk around, if desired.
● Public Access: MindTravel staff actively monitors the perimeter to ensure that all public
walkways, sidewalks, park paths, and emergency egress lanes remain completely
unobstructed.
● Environmental Impact: Because the audience is seated, there is zero wear and tear on
turf or city property. Furthermore, our staff conducts a comprehensive post-event sweep
of the area to ensure that no refuse is left behind and the space is left in pristine
condition.
Conclusion
We believe the MindTravel Silent Piano Experience offers a high-quality, enriching cultural asset
to the community with a practically non-existent operational footprint. We are fully committed to
working closely with city staff to ensure a seamless, safe, and successful event.
Thank you very much for your time, consideration, and assistance with our application. Please
do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further documentation or details.
Warm regards,
Murray Hidary
