To whom it may concern,
I am writing to formally express my concerns regarding the proposed location for a new
homeless shelter. Specifically, I am concerned about the proximity of the site to both a
local elementary school and the high school that my son attends.
The proposed location is situated in an area heavily frequented by students throughout the
day. With a Wendy's and a Dunkin' across the street from the schools, as well as an ice
cream shop and mini-golf course directly across from the proposed shelter site, this
neighborhood serves as a primary social hub for children and teenagers.
I believe that placing a shelter in the immediate vicinity of these schools and youth-
oriented businesses raises significant concerns regarding the safety and well-being of the
students. While I understand the importance of providing services to those in need, I urge
the planning board to consider an alternative location that does not overlap so directly with
school zones and areas where young children and students congregate.

decision.
