Dear Commissioners:
The Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries (MA DMF) has reviewed the Notice of Intent (NOI) to
construct the Churchill Pump Station and Pine Street Pump Station associated with the Long Pond
Sewer Extension Project in the Town of Barnstable. No excavation, filling, or disruption to the stream
channel is proposed in the Centerville River. MA DMF would appreciate the opportunity to review and
comment on the dewatering plans. Based on the scope of work as currently proposed, MA DMF has no
additional recommendations for sequencing, timing, or methods that would further avoid or minimize
impacts to marine resources at this time.
Questions regarding this review may be directed to Amanda Davis in our New Bedford office at
Amanda.davis@mass.gov.
Thank you,
Alicia Hecht
