We propose to conduct a horse show similar to the show conducted on our premises during the summer of 1981,and a copy of the proposed layout is herewith enclosed. In 1981,we hired professionals to operate the show, and, supposedly, they went to the Town Hall and received, through the office of the Selectmen, all the permits that were required.Naturally, since that time,we have been informed that the Selectmen's office did not notify yourself, the Fire Department or the Building Commissioner, and, maybe, others. Commenting on your letter to Mr.DaLuz,I would refer to your questions, as follows: 1 & 2 -Provision will be made for adequate rubbish and manure removal. 3 -We had a pumper to remove human waste in 198I and would, naturally, have one currently. ^-The food concession will be located at least 100'from the animal tents, and, naturally,we will request any permits required. 5 -We believe that the water service for the 198I show was adequate, but would be perfectly willing to discuss any changes that you might desire.N^y memory indicates that the only real problem with the generator was that it ran out of fuel and the person who was responsible for caring for.such a problem was unreachable for about four hours. We would expect that a show of the caliber that we are contemplating, would draw approximately 300 horses. The rule of thumb is that each horse requires the attendance of about 3 people so that we would be bringing the funds to the Cape that 900 or 1,000 people spend for food, lodging and entertainment over a period of from ^to T dayL. >2 - John M.Kelly,Director of Public Health March 2,1983 Would you kindly contact me so that we can discuss solving some of your concerns.
