Centerville, Massachusetts on September 15., 1998. The purpose of the-follow-up,inspection was to verify that the violations cited in the Notice of Noncompliance (NON) dated.August 12, 1998, have been satisfactorily corrected. FAILURE TO TAKE ADEQUATE ACTION IN RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS LEGAL CONSEQUENCES. Dear Mr. Ames : Department personnel on May 21, 1998, conducted an ERP-Photoprocessor compliance inspection at Centerville Photo Lab, 1696 Falmouth Road, Centerville, Massachusetts, and observed activity in noncompliance with one or more laws, regulations, orders, licenses, permits or approvals enforced by the Department . Specifically, Department personnel observed activities in noncompliance with the Massachusetts Hazardous Waste Regulations. The following violation was observed relative to the Hazardous Waste program: 1 . Although the company maintains a designated hazardous waste accumulation area, said area is not posted with a sign with the words "Hazardous Waste" , in violation of 310 CMR 30 . 340 (1) (j ) requirements found in Workbook section 5 .3d, which prescribes the sign posting. Therefore, the Department requires that within one day upon receipt of this Notice the hazardous waste accumulation area shall be posted in accordance with the above-referenced . regulation. Furthermore, the Department requires a written response within fifteen (15) days of receipt of this Notice, as to the actions taken or intended to be taken relative to achieving and maintaining compliance with the Regulations.
