Good Morning Greg,
There may be other areas which will preclude this parcel from any sort of use. Over half of it is in the flood zone and the
rest may be classified as wetlands. Therefore I may suggest that you contact the following departments before making
any decisions:
1.) Robin Anderson (Zoning)
2.) The Conservation Division
3.) Old Kings Highway Historic District
There may be more requirements as you go along (i.e. site plan review) which will only become evident as you research
the possibility of using this property.
Also, all of the departments listed above are located in this building and you should come in to discuss this with them in
person. It would help to have a drawing of what you will be putting on the property and the proposed location.
If any structures are planned, and allowed by the other departments,the building department will review after the
permit application is received.

My name is Greg Luce and I'm writing for my Father, Richard, regarding the lot at 285
Main St.

Richard owns Mattakeesett Oysters, LLC. an aquaculture company located off of
Barnstable's Great Marsh.
We're interested in this lot currently classified by the Town as an 'Undevelopable' lot.
We've spoken
to the town's Zoning commission, who gave us a copy of the town's relevant statutes,
(240 (4)) and though they don't see
a problem, suggested that we contact the Building dept, leading us to you.
We're interested in only using the upland part of the property for storage of our
equipment. (Metal racks/poly bags)
We would clear the uplands according to any/all environmental/conservation
restrictions.
We would appreciate your input on this proposal before proceeding further.
