A letter from Robert Burgmann dated February 1, 2008 indicated that this property does not fall within a designated area of concern as identified by the Town's Wastewater Facilities Plan. However, this site is located within a nitrogen sensitive area. Also,the wastewater discharge flow is more than 3,000 gallons on this small 0.66 acre parcel, greatly exceeding 5ppm at the down- gradient property line. Currently, there are two septic systems which are in failure at this property. Udder the town's present sewer extension policy,the town will entertain a proposal to extend town sewer beyond it's present location if the property to be served is located within an area of concern as identified in the town's Wastewater Facilities Plan. The extension must be designed and constructed to the town standards as an integral part of the town's wastewater collection system. The Board of Health must recommend to the DPW that the property be connected to the town's collection system. Your client's property does not fall in an area that was designated as an area of concern in the Wastewater Facilities Plan. Because of that reason, the town will not entertain the extension of the collection system to serve this property at this time.
