Dear John,
We got your letter regarding the cockroaches in your apartment. As you know, we
exterminated on August 2, 2010 and will continue to do so. It is very important that you
keep your apartment clean.
It would be most effective if you:
1) Vacuum or sweep the floor after every meal
2) Wash dishes in soapy, hot water to eliminate all traces of grease
3) Keep trash in a tight-lidded container
4) Store unused portions of food in tightly sealed plastic containers or large
glass jars with screw on lids
5) Don't walk through the house eating: contain crumbs in one room (less
cleaning for you).
6) Clean crumbs from under appliances daily
Please make every effort to keep your apartment clean and clutter free, as cockroaches
are attracted to unsanitary conditions.
We've been happy with you as a tenant. We will do every thing we can to rid the
building of roaches, so please do your part and keep your apartment clean.

December 6, 1999 by Glen Harrington, R.S. Health Inspector for the Town of Barnstable,
