(date) b NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSAL Carousels are history, art and entertainment constantly turning before your very eyes. Many books have been written documenting the prominent place carousels hold in the history of amusement parks. More importantly though, carousels are prominently placed in the memories of our childhood. Who cannot recall the Sunday afternoon carousel ride, with the parents beside you until you were old enough to ride on your own. Do you recall the first time you able to reach out and actually grab the brass ring? Carousels allow the adults to reminisce of a slower simpler time and relive those fond memories. Today the carousel animals are recognized as fine art and very valuable. You can find them on display in museums, shops and private homes. This proposal will only consider a fine attractive carousel to be added to Courtyard Marketplace. The primary focus of the carousel will be entertainment of our youth, of all ages. Parents will ride with their young children. Young couples and lovers will be attracted to the carousel also. And finally, those of us who are old enough to remember the carousel in it's heyday, will be allowed to relive those cherished memories. Erecting a fine handsomely finished carousel will upgrade the attractions on Main Street, Hyannis by providing art, history and entertainment.
