It is located on Fi Avenue in West Hyannisport. The last known owners are Miss Catherine Marchetti, 124 Suomi Rd., Hyannis and her sister, Mrs. Richard Morgan of Marblehead, MA. It appears that this house should be condemned as inhabitable. It is not only an eyesore to the neighbors but I feel it is possibly a health hazard. An old toilet has been laying on the ground for many, many years; a tree has fallen on the roof at the rear of the house, and brambles and poison ivy are growing all around. Several years ago I telephoned Ms. Marchetti to let her know a racoon was seen going into the attic of this house and that the neighbors were also concerned about the condition of the property. At that time I indicated we would be interested in purchasing the property. I got the sense there may have been a disagreement between the sisters regarding the responsibility and/or ownership of the property. My family has owned a dwelling at 117 Fourth Avenue since 1954; the rear of our land abuts the Fifth Avenue property. It will be greatly appreciated if you, as the building inspector, would look into the status of the Marchetti property and request the.owners do something about its present condition. Thank you for whatever your are legally allowed to do regarding matters such as this. Sincerely, P Shirley A.
