My husband, Edward Kelley, may or may not have received the letters. He has three brain injuries and a stroke. He does function well for his injuries, however, he tends to take the mail and throw it in the trash and if I don't catch it, I don't know about it. We have been working on the septic. We were approved for the community septic loan and'have been working with Capewide Enterprises. They have been having a horrible time trying to get an electrical meter installed by Eversource. I have called multiple times to be told that the contractor has to call and Cap ewide keeps being told the homeowner needs to call. I will try again tomorrow and will go to an Eversource office to see if going there will bring a better result. There needs to be a seperate meter for the pump for the town sewer. It seems`a bit ridiculous that the contractor can't order the meter. ' If you send me the ticket for 100;00 I will get it paid. Thanks. We investigated the property with E-826. We arrived and spoke with the caller who was concerned about a possible co problem because she and her husband have two children and they believe that the furnace may not be operating properly. We checked the apartment that is part of a duplex home, we used our CO detector and could no find any obvious problem with co however we requested the gas co. to double check the furnace, the service tech arrived and checked the gas operated furnace and found it to be operating ok however there was no filter in the furnace. We could not gain access to the adjacent apartment at this time. Lt. Cadrin requested Lt. Chase and the building inspector to the scene for fire safety violations such as missing smoke detectors and the use of a possible elegal apartment in the basement. Both arrived on scene to investigate and will follow up with land lord asap. We could not find any immediate CO problem at this time. The resident was advised to purchase a CO detector and call FD if persons become ill. " . Owner. Many Home Owners who use this exemption are unaware that they are assuming the responsibilities of a supervisor- (see Appendix Q Rules and Regulations for .licensing. In this case our Board cannot proceed against the % inlicensed person as it would with licensed Supervisor. The Home "6wner-'actin as supervisor is ultimately responsible. To ensure that the Home Owner is fully aware of his/her responsibilities, man communities require, as part of the permit application, that the Home,'Owner certify that he/she understands the responsibilities of a supervisor.:'; On the last page of this issue is a form currently used by several towns.
