Also attached are the initial Affidavits for Control Construction for Architecture and Structure. There is no mechanical or plumbing within the proposed scope of work. The electrical work will be minor and will include any required upgrades per electrical code. We have not been retained for electrical engineering. We hope this summary addresses your concerns. Summary/Conclusions for Written Code Report: This Code Review was based on 9tn Edition of the State of MA Building Code — consisting of: The International Building Code 2015 (IBC), The International Existing Building Code 2015 (IEBC) and the State of Massachusetts Amendments. The State of MA has adopted the International Existing Building Code 2015 with modifications in lieu of Chapter 34 of the International Building Code 2015. Compliance Method: Section 301. 1, IEBC 2015 the method used for code compliance is "301. 1.2 Work area compliance method. Repairs, alterations, additions, changes in occupancy and relocated buildings complying with the applicable requirements of Chapters 5 through 14 of this code shall be considered in compliance with the provisions of this code". Chapter 5 — Classification of Work: Section 503.1 Alteration — Level 1 - Scope: Level 1 Alterations include the removal and replacement or the covering of existing materials, elements, equipment, or fixtures using new materials, elements, equipment, or fixtures that serve the same purpose. 503.2 Application, Level 1 alterations shall comply with the provisions of Chapter 7. Hyannis Harbor Hotel Stair Roof Replacement February 13, 2020 Chapter 7 — Alterations Level 1: Section 701.1 Scope: Level 1 Alterations as described in Section 503 shall comply with the requirements of this chapter. Section 703.1 Fire Protection: Alterations shall be done in manner that maintains the level of fire protection provided. The existing building is not equipped with an automatic sprinkler system.
