Today even more than in the The left.one is untreated, the right coated with ALBERT"DS"clear. past, architects and builders use wood wherever possible. Pep- s pie just like to be surrounded by wood and feel its warmth. With its many excellent qualities, wood has only one serious weak- " $'° ness: its susceptibility to fire! Great efforts have een made through research by industry, particularly after World War II, to ' overcome that shortcoming and with very satisfying results. Amon various approaches to reduce the flammability of ' 9 PP Y wood, "intumescent" (foam forming) coatings are recognized by experts as the most effective means. A number of very good ` fireretardant paints (pigmented) are now available, but such a n paints hide the natural appearance of wood, and thus the es- thetic reasons for using wood is lost. ALBERT-DS was the first CLEAR, CLASS "A" fireretardant ' ` ``` coating, with excellent fireretardant properties. Relentless de- velopment work for improvement of this product and refinement s of its esthetic and other properties has even further widened the gap between"DS"and other products of this kind—none of them r ` even approaching its performance.
