The proposed addition would contain two bedrooms to be used by his children who are now sharing one small bedroom. This addition would measure 14 ft. x 30 ft. and Mr. Ethier said that it would be within 9 ft. of the front property line rather than the required '20 ft. Ms. Sally Ann Norris was present at. the hearing and explained that she has a rental cottage next door to the petitioner's property which is about 7 ft. back from her front property line and about 2 ft. from the sideline which abutts the petitioner's property. Ms. Norris said that she had no objection to the petitioner's request and said that a portion of his property had been taken by the town to widen the road. Mr. Ethier said that he was aware of the town's taking a portion of the front of this property when he purchased it in 1975. No one spoke in favor of or in objection to the petiton and the Board took the matter under advisement. The Board voted unanimously to deny the petitioner's request for a variance. The property was viewed by Mr. Congdon who found that the existing building measures only 15 ft. from the corner to the front property line and i'f permission were granted for the proposed addition, this would be only about 1 ft. or 2 ft. from the front property line. This land contains, in addition to the petitioner's residence, efficiency rental units and the Board found that use of this property is already over- developed.
