The proposed sign will be substantially the same; however, we.would like to introduce columns with capitals similar to the columns in front of St. Francis Xavier church(see drawing and copy of Brosco product). The columns and capitals will be fiberglass with the structural 4"x 4"pressure treated posts running through the column to the top of the sign. The post will be completely hidden. The posts running above the columns will be covered with pressure plywood and pine on the ends and top. I propose to make the sign as weather resistant as possible without in any way detracting from overall visual integrity. I propose to use aluminum caps over the pine and vinyl cove moldings. The actual signage will be wood beveled boards painted black with gold leaf lettering. ` Windows: There are currently 28 windows in the main portion of the structure that we installed, we believe in the mid 1800's. These windows are all double hung measuring 34inches wide by 64 inches high. They all have a single mullion running down the middle (2 over 2 panes). They all single glaze with storm windows. We propose to remove the windows and storms and replace them with Harvey Industries Majesty Custom Windows (see pages 2 through 4 of Majesty Brochure) The windows are white vinyl on the exterior with wood on the interior. These window can be ordered to match,the size of the existing windows and will be ordered with the single mullion(not between the glass). After research, it is believed that this window will be in keeping with the historic nature of the building. Front Door: The existing front door is a four panel wood door with a half round window at the top having four panes. When we renovated the house in 1979, the house did not have a front door in the main portion. The entry way was located on the side porch in the front where the existing door was used. The door was severly cracked and warped;however, we made every effort to repair it and moved it to the middle of the front of the house. Unfortunately the door has continued to crack and is in desperate need of replacement. We would keep the existing full view storm door that we installed in 1989. We propose to use a Perma=True Steel Entry Door model P5 from Fairview (see brochure). The door will have the same mullion design and will be painted black, the same as the existing door. Landscape: We propose to clean-up the area between Harvard Realty and our building being the rear lot line Highschool Road. This has been the most unattractive area on the property as most of the trees are dead or diseased and the litter and garbage.from the passersby seems to.end up there. I proposes to remove most of the trees and landscape the area with Arborvites and mulch with some flowers.
