Dear Historic Commissioners,
I am writing to you in support of William and Sherry Lawson's
application for a permit to raze their house at 133 Gosnold Street in Hyannis.
I am a Hyannis native and my family has been on Highland
Street in Hyannis since my grandparents moved their family there from Camp Street in
Hyannis in the early 1920's. I have made hundreds of trips up and down Gosnold Street
in my seventy five years and can say with great certainty that the Lawson's house is not
a distinctive structure in any way.
My wife and I lived at 133 Gosnold Street for a short time
when our house was under construction. I have seen the house inside and out and can
say that it has no unusual or notable architectural features. The razing of the house will
not in any way damage the character of the neighborhood.
I urge you to approve the immediate removal of the
Lawson's house.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Peter L. Cross

Dear Historic Commission,
write to you offering my support for the Lawson's request to immediately demolish their house
which abuts my residence. We are familiar with their plans and totally support them as their
proposal is very much in keeping with the other neighborhood houses from a design
perspective. We can see no historical perspective or feature worth preserving and find their
environmental objectives to be admirable. It is unfortunate that they have been delayed as costs
are increasing quickly. We sincerely hope that you will grant their request for demolition relief. so
that they may proceed with their worthy project.
Respectfully yours,
Satish Tyagi

Dear Ms. Clark:
Our neighbors, and friends, Sherry and Bill Lawson, have requested your approval to remove and replace
the structure at 133 Gosnold St.,Hyannis, MA(circa 1920).
We are in complete support of their project and fully support their request that the Barnstable Historical
Commission (the Commission)reconsider their decision(March 15,2022)to deny the Lawson's request
to remove and replace the structure.
We support the Laswon's request for reconsideration of the Commission's decision because the Lawson's
new home design is a"Cape-style Ranch" that will fit in the neighborhood beautifully. We believe the
new home's exterior elevations and finishes are more compatible with other homes in the neighborhood
than the existing structure.
We are excited about the Lawson's plan for their new home and respectfully urge the Commission to re-
consider the March 15, 2022 deei ion.
Sincerely,
Linda&Kurt Hulteen

We would like to express our opinion on Bill and Sherry Lawson's desire to construct a new home
after demolishing the present home on 133 Gosnold St.
After speaking with abutters of this property we feel confident that the newly constructed home
would be a much needed improvement in the neighborhood.
We certainly appreciate the value to the community of having an active Historical Commission and
will accept all decisions that come from the committee as beneficial to Hyannis.
