Summary: Demolition Delay Not Imposed Pursuant to Chapter 112 Historic Properties

Pursuant to the Barnstable Historical Commission receiving your notice of intent on April 19, 2022, a duly
advertised and noticed public hearing was held on May 17, 2022 and continued to the May 31, 2022,to determine
whether the significant structure identified as a single family dwelling on this property is a preferably preserved
significant structure and whether demolition delay would be imposed for the partial demolition of the single family
dwelling on the parcel addressed as 214 Bridge Street,Osterville.
After review and consideration of public testimony, application and record file, the Commission by a unanimous
vote,found that in accordance with Chapter§112,the structure is not a preferably preserved significant building.
In accordance with Chapter§112,the Commission determined, by a unanimous vote,that the partial demolition of
the structure would not be detrimental to the historical, cultural or architectural heritage or resources of the
Town.
Subsequent to the above motions, on amendment was made to add full mullions to sliders on the right elevation.
The motion passed with a vote of five in favor(Clark, Fifield, Powell,Parks, Kay)
This decision applies only to the demolition described in the notice of intent submitted on April 19,2022.No future
demolition shall be permitted without application and approval from the Barnstable Historical Commission. This
decision is valid for 24 months.

Subsequent to the above motions, a modification was made, to amend the motions to include that the Old Post
Road facing elevation and the Little River Road facing elevation will match the existing architecturally (Clark,
Fifield,Powell,Parks, Kay).
This decision applies only to the demolition described in the notice of intent submitted on April 14,2022.No future
demolition shall be permitted without application and approval from the Barnstable Historical Commission. This
decision is valid for 24 months.

After review and consideration of public testimony, application and record file, the Commission by a unanimous
vote,found that in accordance with Chapter§112,the structure is not a preferably preserved significant building.
In accordance with Chapter§112, the Commission determined, by a unanimous vote,that the partial demolition of
the structure would not be detrimental to the historical, cultural or architectural heritage or resources of the
Town.
Subsequent to the above motions, a modification was made, to amend the motions to include that the structure
will not be sandblasted, but a less destructive method of removing the paint will be implemented, and the stain
glass window will be encased for further protection. (Clark, Fifield,Parks, Kay).
This decision applies only to the demolition described in the notice of intent submitted on April 20,2022. No future
demolition shall be permitted without application and approval from the Barnstable Historical Commission. This
decision is valid for 24 months.
