Dear Gerard and Joan:
I am writing to you in regard to your Flood Insurance Policy. Due to changes in the Flood
program, all policies are being reviewed to determine if the rating zones are correct. Your policy
had been rated with a Zone B for years,however, the correct Zone for the property should be
"AE" as it is in a higher risk area.
In order to continue to pay the premiums based on the"B" Zone—we will need one of the ;
following: f
1. A copy of the FIRM(Flood Insurance Rating Map) in effect at the time the building was ,.
constructed::The•FIRM should have the community, panel and suffix numbers;the rating
information to be grandfathered (e.g. Zone, BFE ,elevation difference) and the building -
location and property address must be clearly marked.
2. A letter or statement from a community'official that includes the property address; the N
Zone/BFE (Base Flood Elevation) for the property; the community, panel, and suffix
numbers; and the effective date of the FIRM.
3. An Elevation Certificate (EC) on which the surveyor has included in the comments
section the Zone/BFE for the property;the community,panel and suffix numbers; and the
effective date of the FIRM.'

We will also need you to sign the following statement:
I confirm that the property has not been altered in any way that has resulted in making the
reference level•floor lower than the BFE on the FIRM in effect at the time of construction and
that the building has not been substantially improved.
