Mrs. Sandorse presented her=petition-'for variance relief, at-Map 228, Lot749
Katherine Road, ,,Centerville in an RC zoning districtrfor a lot containing
10,500 square feet that the petitioner purchased three years ago., The. petitioner
purchased her residence twelve- years ago which is contiguous with this lot -
both parcels are solely. in her name. :,When the petitioner-'purchased' this lot,
it was to the best of her knowledge; `a buildable lot. The lots on either side
are of -comparable size and have homesriconstructed ou_them. Mrs. Sandorse would
like to. construct a single-family, residenCe on this lot. Ldke Lally found that
variance conditions do exist, simply b,epause_ of the fact that the lot is located
among lots of similar s•ize.''. He also found that three years ago it was a buildable
lot, because -the deed put-this into single ownership ,and changed-'the legality-of
whether a house could be ,built• on it or not, is to may,way of thinking not "important,
and since no one spoke,.in opposition to the petition, I make a,motion based on
these findings to' .grant, the ,,petitioner the relief .sought ,'- the motion`.was seconded.
by Dexter Bliss. - Helen Wirtanen, Gail Nightingale and. Dexter Bliss found that
the petitionerfailed to establish variance conditions' as defined in Section 10,
of Chapter 4OA, M.G.L.; and ,th'e petitioner has created her own hardship. The
petition is denied with three=negative votes, of a four member Board of Appeals- ,
