Dear Commissioner Perry:
Pursuant to MGL Chapter 148 Section 28A, I am making you aware and request
your interpretation of a basement apartment and basement bedroom without secondary
means of egress and second floor bedroom without secondary means of egress at:
202 Lake Elizabeth Drive
Centerville, MA
While on an amlual inspection at this address, I observed a basement apartment
and basement bedroom without secondary means of egress. Additionally, there is a
second floor bedroom (#5) without adequate secondary means of egress. This property is
a rental cottage on the first and second floor and is a staff apartment on the basement
level. I have serious concern with the ability of the occupants to escape under emergency
conditions with the limited egress options available.
