Based on the attached drawings, layout of the panels, rack connection clip spacing and the proposed lag screw connectors, we completed a wind loading analysis for uplift loads on the array to determine spacing of clips to rafters. The project is located in the 110 mph Exposure B wind zone and the uplift load for components and cladding was estimated at25"psf. Using the Unirac L-feet spaced 48" on center horizontally, and 36" on center along the rafter;the uplift is calculated to be approximately 240 Ibs/connector. By utilizing 5/16" x 5" lag screws to connect the L-feet into the 2x8 rafter, we calculate the.design withdrawal value, using the American Wood Council design criteria,to be approx. 500 Ibs,over double what is actually required.
