The Barnstable Historical Commission held a duly noticed public hearing on the above referenced application at their meeting of August 5, 2008. They had previously made an initial determination-that the building at the above referenced location is potentially historically and architecturally significant, and is more than 75 years of age. At that meeting, they made an initial determination that the building at 261 School Street is historically and architecturally significant, and the Commission voted unanimously to hold a public hearing on the application for demolition. The Board found that the historic inventory indicates the building on this site dates from 1915 and is a vernacular gambrel roofed building, the twin of an adjacent building. ,No demolition in part or all of the building should be done at this time,`and the building must no(be.moved.
