DECISION of the Barnstable Historical Commission, pursuant to the Code of the
Town of Barnstable Chapter 112, Historic Properties, Article 1, Protection of Historic
Properties ss 112-1 through ss 112-7
Application for Demolition of house at the following location:
C261�S_chooLStreet,-Cotu f -V 020, Parcel 101.
The Barnstable Historical Commission held a duly noticed public hearing on the above
referenced application at their meeting of August 5, 2008. They had previously made an
initial determination-that the building at the above referenced location is potentially
historically and architecturally significant, and is more than 75 years of age.
Members of the Commission visited the site and reviewed the historical inventory of the
property; the Commission found that the building has little historic or architectural

The Barnstable Historical Commission reviewed the above referenced application at
their regular meeting of July 15, 2008. At that meeting, they made an initial
determination that the building at 261 School Street is historically and architecturally
significant, and the Commission voted unanimously to hold a public hearing on the
application for demolition. The Board found that the historic inventory indicates the
building on this site dates from 1915 and is a vernacular gambrel roofed building, the
twin of an adjacent building.
,No demolition in part or all of the building should be done at this time,`and the building
must no(be.moved.
Present and voting to hold'a.public hearing on the-above application were: Barbara
Flinn, Chairman, Nancy Shoemaker, Jessica Rapp Grassetti, George Jessop,Marilyn
