Complaint Description: The man, who wants to remaind anonymous,
called to notify about oil spill at 59 Bodick Rd.,
Hyannis.
Actions Taken/Results: I went out to check for evidence of oil spill. I
spoke with Ken Mendoza of Top Notch Repair
Service in 59E Bodick Rd. He said that it was
probably Christian Zipp who was kicked out of
his unit that Ken now occupies. He said that
the same complaint has been made before
without any evidence. I did a full Haz Mat
inspection while I was there and everything
seemed to be ok. There was no evidence of oil
spills. Only car washing next door at 59D
Bodick Road. Washing was power-washing
with water only. GH

Complaint Description: Dumping oil near a well head in front of Dave's
Recon near end BAY D.
Actions Taken/Results: 5/22/97 at 4:000 p.m., TM immediately went to
the site and talked to both Ken Mendoza who is
operating "Top Notch Auto"at Unit E and Dave
Almeida of"Daves' Reconditioning"of Unit D.
No persons observed dumping oil there. Mr.
Mendoza showed TM a 55 gallon drum which is
kept inside the building to collect waste oil. TM
completed an inspection report and a Health
registration form for Mr. Mendoza. However,
some major violations were observed including
no toilet facilities provided in the unit, no
hazardous waste hauler contractor(because
Mr. Mendoza stated that he has only been in
this unit for 8 weeks) no business certificate, no
ventilation booth, dumpster lid left open. On
5/23/97, TM reported the situation to the
Building Division to request follow-up regarding
zoning.
