Complaint Description: The painters are cleaning there brushes with
paint thinner on the ground. She also said she
saw them cut up an above ground oil tank.
Actions Taken/Results: LM responded to complaint 4/4/2002. Lm
spoke with two painters on the property about
their cleaning habits. LM explained that they
could not dump the paint thinner into the ground
and that it needed to be properly disposed of.
Lm spoke to the two men about the oil tank and
the danger it posed. LM spoke with home
owner Bernice phillips about situation. Mr.
Phillips explained that he had the tank
inspected and was given the approval to cut the
tank up so he could bring it to the transfer
station. Mr. Phillips also explained that he
would speak to the painters about proper
procedures and he would personally dispose of
the haz. waste himself.
