Dear Bruce,
Holmes and McGrath, Inc. performed high groundwater measurements during the
influence of a new moon high tide as requested by the Barnstable Health Department. The new
moon influenced high tides were forecasted for July 18`h to the 21", 2016. A groundwater
monitoring well was installed and groundwater levels were measured on July 18`h, 19th, 20`h and
21", 2016. The high groundwater level influenced by the high moon tide was measured at an
elevation of 0.9-feet NAVD88. Adjusting this elevation with the Cape Cod Commission
Technical Bulletin 92-001 methodology and the use of the current and historic groundwater level
measurements of the Mashpee USGS well (MIW-29) the adjusted high groundwater elevation is
2.6-feet NAVD88. After analyzing these findings we conclude that the designed septic system
as proposed for the new development at 501 Eel River Road is adequate in providing proper
separation of 5.7-feet to the adjusted high groundwater(see graphic below).
