This letter is to notify you and your establishment that, as of October 2018, you will not be required to obtain a permit for retail packaged foods provided they are not categorized as TCS Foods. (Time/Temperature Controlled Foods for Safety). If you should start selling retail foods which are categorized as TCS foods in the future, you will need to apply for a retail food permit. However, according to the new adopted food code, you will not need to renew your existing retail food permit. If you have any other permits with Town of Barnstable (i.e., Tobacco, Food Service), you will need to renew those permits..
