Work Description: Expansion of current 5'x 10" porch with a proposed 5' x 12' addition. The 2'will fit into a house wall nook.
The current porch is fastened to the house sill on two sides and appears to supported by a 3)2" x 6" beam
10' long on 2 solid blocks. It appears 2"X 6" material was selected to provide a 5"step down to the current
deck from the house doorway. Heavier material would have created a "trip step" (311). The two solid
blocks would be replaced with two 8 concrete piers on 12" x12" x6' thick footings 48" deep. A 3d pier
would be added to carry the outer edge of the new area on a 3)2" x10" beam with a 10.5 foot open span.
One edge of proposed new area will be air gapped and anchored to house sill. The next edge will be on 2
