Standing lz stories high this diminutive cottage is decorated with a carved vergeboard . round and flat arched labels over windows and doors, and a carved second story balcony. The exterior chimney was probably an early 20th century addition intended to extend residency beyond the warm summer months. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE Cexplain the role owners played in local or state history and how the building relates to the development of; the community) . Alpha Cottage is an excellent representative example of the 40-60 cottages which now P g comprise the Craigville Christian Camp Meeting Association. Most of these small dwellings were erected during the late 19th century when the settlement was establising a permanent summer religious meeting place and needed shelter for the many families who traveled to-Craigville. - This dwelling is among the earliest erected. - i BIBLIOGRAPHY and/or REFERENCES Barnstable County Atlases- 1880, 1907. ` Vuilleumier, Marion. Thomas Perry Town of Barnstable Town Hall Building Division 367 Main Street Hyannis, MA 02601 RE: Revised Foundation Asbuilt Plan for 145 Ocean Ave, Craigville, MA Dear Mr. Perry: Please find enclosed a revised Foundation Asbuilt Plan dated May 3, 2007 (last revised 6-19-07) for 145 Ocean Ave for your records. The reason for the revision was due to the fact that the location of the recently constructed addition was shown incorrectly on the original foundation asbuilt plan dated May 3, 2007 that was previously submitted to your office. This revised plan now shows the newly constructed addition to be in its correct location, which is 22.3' from the western property line, 20.8' from the rear property line, 38.0' from the eastern property line, and finally 49.9' from the front property line. Should you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me at our office. Thank you for your assistance on this project. Sin erely, John L. Churc ill, r., P.E.
