No increase in habitable space or bedrooms is proposed. inspections The existing dwelling contains 2 bedrooms; the system is designed based the state- mandated 3 bedroom design minimum. permits The following variances are requested under Maximum Feasible Compliance 15.405: 1 a: reduction in setback, SAS to lot line(10' to 5') landscape Variances requested under Barnstable Board of Health Regulations: architecture Art I: Section 360-1: Septic tank, pump chamber, d'box and SAS to coastal bank (75', 63', 49', and 50' variances respectively). Note:this is a.discontinuous"inland" coastal bank, state definition. 360-1 (coast.): reduction in setback, SAS to BVW(100' to 77'); septic tank to BVW (100' to 61') and pump chamber to BVW(100' to 65) Due to severe site constrictions to include the presence of wetlands, severe topography and small size of available lot area for a septic system, setback variances are requested in order to maintain the greatest distance possible to the wetlands. The base of the leaching facility is greater than 5' above groundwater, and based on the site's proximity to tidewater influence, the SAS is likely greater than 9' above groundwater. The existing coastal bank, based on the state's definition, is an inland bank not subject to tidal water action. It is "discontinuous" and as such, it serves in a minor capacity to contain flood waters should such an event arise. The contractor will restore the access area with the same general contouring once the installation is complete. p We feel that by granting these variances, the same degree of environmental protection can be attained without the need for strict adherence to the Title 5 and Town of Barnstable Regulations. 1 your Daniel A.
