NOTICE TO ABATE VIOLATIONS OF TOWN OF BARNSTABLE CODE
The property owned by you located at 282 Walnut Street, MA was inspected on May 9,
2014 by Town of Barnstable Health Inspector Timothy B O'Connell, R.S., because of a
complaint.
The following violation of the Town of Barnstable Board Code was observed:
353-1 Responsibilities of Owners; Large amount of garbage and rubbish and debris
located on the Western edge of property.
You are directed to remove the garbage and rubbish from this property and dispose
of it properly within (14) days of your receipt of this notice.
You may request a hearing before the Board of Health if written petition requesting same
is received within ten (10) days after the date the order is served.
Failure to comply with an order will result in a fine of$100.00. Each day's failure to comply
with an order shall constitute a separate violation.

Dear Sir:
Recently I was contacted by the Health Department in reference
to cleaning up Some dumping along my acreage in Marston Mills
which borders the Walnut Street Extension. Donna Miorandi
informed me that since the Walnut Street Extension was an
"iJndefined Ancient Way" , it was my responsibility for the
cleanup. This letter should present my concerns of this situation
as discusspd ,in brief via our phone conversation of July 7, 1992.
In the past., I have cleaned up dumping from my land along the
Walnut Street Extension. The result was only more dumping. I even
erected a gate in front of the main section where a majority of
the dumping was occurring. The gate was stolen! I think yogi can
see my 'position here; I am not unwilling to clean, up the land,
but unless I have assurances that future dumping will be stopped,
I can't see spending monies on what I consider a hopeless cause.
As an out-of-state landowner, I am not �b1e to maintain a 24 hour
surveillance on the people who use this cut-through from Old
Stage toad to Race Lane either as a convenience or for illegal
dumping.
If the town can indicate some. positive plan of action to
eliminate future dumping and/or accept the kesponsibility for any
future cleanup, I will }fie happy to address the existing problem.
