Approval
Dear Chief Jenkins:
The Department of Environmental Protection has reviewed your request
dated February 29, 1996 to permit the West Barnstable Fire Department to
conduct fire training at a building located at 2135 Iyanough Road, West
Barnstable, Massachusetts. The training exercises will be held to instruct
fire fighters to control and extinguish a building fire. The training
exercise will include:
1. Several small fires set to furnishings within
two or three rooms of the building;
2 . . Instruction in structural evolutions, search and rescue, forcible
entry, ventilation, and. live fire training evolutions.
The Department has determined that this is a valid application of
7.07 (3) (a) of the "Air Pollution Control Regulations", and therefore,
approves this request.
The approval is contingent upon compliance with the following
stipulations:
1. Burning must be conducted during periods of favorable atmospheric
ventilation. The burn must be conducted between 10:00 a.m. and
4:00 p.m.
2. Burning must not result in the creation of a nuisance condition to
occupants of any nearby residencies.
3 . Smoke minimizing starters or starting aids must be used.

4. Burning must be conducted under the provisions of Section 13,
Chapter 48, of the Massachusetts General Laws.
iy Failure to comply with these conditions may result in the revocation of
this authorization.
