On slide 8, treatment around door and window look different at the top? Quram Mohammed, Not going to be like that, It will be baton board siding. Jaime McGrath of Pine Harbor Wood Products also in attendance. 20 by 34 barn with a 8 by 24 attached greenhouse. Black sash windows. White cedar shingles. Sliding doors as referenced in the pictures that will be white. Bett McCarthy, Consider it a remote road and fitting with the neighborhood. Able to store cars an d boats. Add nicely to the community. Lesley Wallace, feels the same way. It looks good. Ryan Coholan, asks for the plot plan to be put back up. How far back from the road? Jamie McGrath, Just about 31 feet. Minimum. Rob Anderson, This plan is dated February 10th. There is an updated plan dated May that shows driveway will come in directly from Indian Trail and not from the north side of the barn to accommodate everyone. Plan is to build so boats and cars will not be seen from the road. Ryan Coholan, thinks it’s great to store the stuff inside. Perhaps bigger; double the size. Rob Anderson, clarifies 32 by 34 structure. Jamie McGrath, clarifies main part is 24 by 34 with an 8 foot bump out. Rob Anderson, coloring clarification; picture is color of the trim. 2 over 2 with black inside. Ryan Coholan, appropriate. Wendy Shuck, Trim color question answered. Single rail fence along the property? Rob Anderson, Conservation is requiring that. May appeal. We have a two rail around our property. Picket fence style. If it’s an issue for OKH, can get a more definitive answer on that. Wendy Shuck, Asks Paul if he has seen a single rail fence. Paul Richard, No, but it is in the back and not really visible. It’ll blend in. Agree with conservation. Submit current plot plan. No issues. George Jessop joins the meeting. Public comment: None A motion was made by Bett McCarthy to approve the Certificate of Appropriateness for Stone, Hilary, 94 Indian Trail, Barnstable, Map 336, Parcel 015, new build to construct Boat Barn/Garage/Greenhouse, as submitted with a current plot plan to be submitted as well, seconded by Lesley Wallace, Roll Call Vote: Bett McCarthy - aye Lesley Wallace - aye Ryan Coholan - aye Wendy Shuck - aye Paul Richard – aye George Jessop may participate in discussion but abstain from vote. Representative, Steve Cobolas, in attendance. Multiple components here. Windows will be like for like; marvin white clad exterior, 6 over 6. Front door to a therma true; reference door in materials. 6 light on the top. Replacing decking with engineered forestry weathers naturally into a grey. Previously approved reconstruction of deck on 4/17/2019 essentially a recreation. Skirting will be a white pine around the deck. Railing system will remain a wood system painted white. Bett McCarthy, Grills would be on the exterior, is that correct? Steve Cobolas, That is correct. Bett McCarthy, In a house that age it is appropriate. No problem with any replacement of the windows or deck material. Lesley Wallace, Agreed. Thinks it will look good and it has already been okayed for deck reconstruction. Ryan Coholan, A lot of thought into window type; think it will look good no exceptions. Wendy Shuck, Thinks windows and deck are appropriate; concerned with front door. Steve Cobolas, Holds up picture of proposed door. Ties in with the S-608 style. Tall two panel shaker style. Goes well with age and style of home. Wendy Shuck, Not sure if door style is appropriate for age of house. George Jessop, Consider a single row of glass or lights across the top of the door to simulate transom; then make it a 4 panel door below those four lights. 9 light door always appropriate but normally regulated to the side or back doors. Either nine light or single row light will be most appropriate for this home. Paul Richard, Asks to see front elevation. Given the age and proximity to 6A, the door submitted shouldn’t be approved. Pick out door that is closer matching to existing door. Gives homeowners option of choosing something closer to existing door or approve application with the exception of the front door. Deirdre and Philip Detjens, Approve everything but the front door. Would like to see other options and bring it back to the committee. George Jessop, Bullseye, thicker center to the glass panel. Decorative. Look into something like that. Public comment: None. Wendy Shuck, Thinks it’s appropriate. Will you be using the existing door on that mudroom? James Bustamante, Correct. Wendy Shuck, Great. Appropriate and fitting for the area. George Jessop, Secondary entrance, will the front entrance be maintained or shut off? James Bustamante, Front entrance will be maintained. George Jessop, Repeating the pergola is an inappropriate detail. Everything else is go od. Paul Richard, Appropriate. Public comment: None. George Jessop, 2 rows is not appropriate. It is not an East Coast design element. Bett McCarthy, Visited property. Neighborhood not following antique or historic look. Consider this replacement door appropriate for the setting and where the house is located. Lesley Wallace, Looks good. More light. Ryan Coholan, Appropriate for neighborhood. Original has storm door, will a storm door be added to the proposed replacement? Greg Brown, No. Ryan Coholan, Okay. Good. Wendy Shuck, Agree, appropriate for neighborhood. George Jessop, Photograph is a 9 light door and not a 6 light. Paul Richard, Not an antique home. George Jessop, Photograph shown is not what is being done. Paul Richard, Asks for front elevation of home. George Jessop, Agree new side lights and door needs replacement. Side lights should be reflective of the door itself. You can increase side lights to 4 lights on either side. Greg Brown, Don’t want to increase distance downward. Want to keep the distance the same. Not interested to increasing the li ghts in the side lights. George Jessop, Not historic. No difference in what you put in. Paul Richard, Not too visible. Not highly traveled road.
