Indian Trail is a private way and as such,the Town can only perform emergency repairs necessary for public safety. Major repair work is the responsibility of the abutters to the road. To access our street we have to drive on Indian Trail,a dangerous road with many pot holes . Indian Trail is an unaccepted street. It is dangerous to drive on and can damage a vehicle or blow a tire easily. During the 2008/2009 winter,a new house was built on Indian Trail. The.large trucks traveling on Indian Trail seem to have caused many of the pot holes.It is my understanding a bond was issued to cover this type of damage.Has this issue been addressed? Our 2010 tax bill rose 20%and our land and property assessment increased It was reported that property assessments decreased on most properties in the Town of Barnstable. Our property is not our prime residence,thus we are not entitled to a property tax abatement. To us there seems to be an injustice, we have to drive a dangerous road to access our property and our property values continue to increase. Please review the Indian Trail situation and advise.
