The applicant stated that he was opposed to both the demoliti n and removal of the cottage and urged that both requests be denied. The members reviewed the historic Inventory Form B which identifies thi Is property as"The Shack"that was built in the 1950's. The Commission heard testimony from the applicant who stated that this is an unusual request and they believe their cottage should be preserved. During public testimony Pat Anderson provided a detailed description of the Sandy Neck Colony area stating that it includes,, 19 significant cottages as well as an archeological site. Town Councilor,Ann Canedy stated that she is opposed to any removal or demolition of any cottages and cautions that such relocation would be almost impossible. Based on the historic information that this dwelling is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Sandy Neck Cultural Resources District,is located within the Old King's Highway Regional Historic District and the Barnstable Multiple Resource Area,as well as testimony from the applicant and public the Committee voted unanimously to support the applicant's request to deny the application for demolition or removal to a non Sandy Neck site.
